they aren’t the crime of the century
because they hardly reach today’s society
those elements of rhyme —

when I feel pain and can’t move on
I still have to focus on staying strong
while nursing my brain —

when I feel fine and won’t write much
there is desire to live and celebrate such
with a glass of wine —

but I still write and party rarely
there is my ability to ridiculously fairly
enjoy a lonely night —

the times are fast and Earth grows hotter
can’t you believe the current price for butter
our luxury is past —

though nature gets in touch with wildest treasure
decreasing numbers of humans will enjoy with pleasure
what I admire much —

the rugged rocks without a human being
no talk above the clouds is actually as freeing
as singing with the hawks.

Already on 31 July 2023, Friedrich Zettl has written some kind of an homage on my work. It’s another part of our continuing virtual collaboration. And this post right here is me trying to interpret the painting he did for his “Elements of Rhyme” post with just another poem. I like the wild approach in and to it, the mountains, clouds, stones and blue sky tangled together. I also liked the title, even though I don’t like the German band “Elements of Crime” which the title refers to, not so much. I still kept the title to make the reference clear. Thanks again, Friedrich, for putting into words that I wouldn’t have come up with myself.
