On a Day Like This

The Sun wakes up and takes a flight
She’s sending us the daily light
The daily news create my morning
Most baffle me and make me yawning

The path I’m walking on today
Will haunt me later, I can say
The future lies in our hands
Who’s got the keys? Well, that depends

Some have answers to unasked questions
Some try to guess: Are those suggestions?
The message might be clear today
We don’t have much more to say

We are those who have the questions
We won’t tolerate vague suggestions
We want answers that make sense
And politicians coming to our defence

With our I mean normal humans here
The social structure is obviously clear
There shouldn’t be any wealthy and poor
Instead balanced outcome, that’s for sure

It’s not hard to make a wish
We need vegetarian dish
And if there is another slot
We need brains in stupid people – a lot!

Negativity has been dominating enough
People’s life shouldn’t be just tough
Everybody only lives once on Earth
There certainly won’t be a second birth

On a day like this on another place
There is a new president without any grace
He knows the job he’d ridiculed before
Right on this other side on the shore

On a day like this, right here, right now
We’d like to know just when and how
The tide’s are gonna get to turn
Or if we all are prone to burn

The climate change will be a mess
If we aren’t willing to adress
The reality, we’re going to face
And by the way: we only have one human race

There is no substance in anger and fear
We are serious when we cheer
For a future that is worth living
For the people who are giving

On a day like this when we are together
We fight for a green and educated weather
We just need a bigger crowd
That’s standing firm and will be loud.
