barking on the street
while it’s still bright
no human in sight
but the other one

feeling his time wasted
on the carpet
eating all day
thinking about the other one

wanting this war won
can’t wait for the night
when he can fight
the other one

resting the next day
on the wet meadow
feeling close
to the other one.
