First Beam Of Light
What’s up brings you down
In the morning
When you’re standing
Peacefully
At the riverside
There is no up
No down
Every morning
It’s a new start
A new beginning
A new life
Promises are made
Expectations believed in
There is fresh breathing
In and out
You can feel the energy
Flooding your body
When you close your eyes
Your mind
Is the centre of the universe
Every particle of dust
Is ellipsing around you
There is the first beam of light
Sent by the Sun
For you.
Last Beam Of Light
What’s down brings you up
In the evening
When you’re lieing
Dreadfully
In a bed of glass
There is all but up
All but down
Every evening
It’s a new low
A new abyss
A new hole
Promises are broken
Expectations thrown in the bin
There is rotten oxygen
Out and in
You can feel the energy leaving
Taken away from your body
When you open your eyes
Your mind
Is the periphery of the universe
Every particle of dust
Treats you like its negative pole
There is the last beam of light
Sent by the Sun
To blind you.
