Loitering Without Intent

Standing still
Drawn into a picture
That wouldn’t move
But I was moved
        While loitering without intent —

Moving on
Seeing my train in the distance
Going two minutes early
But I wasn’t going
        Just loitering without intent —

Keeping quiet
Hearing too many voices
That don’t make sense
But I crave sense
        For loitering without intent —

Singing out loud
In an act of rebellion
My neighbours don’t enjoy it
But I like it
        When loitering without intent —

Falling into dawn
Letting go of everything wasted
Abusing the feelings
Of those who don’t feel
        And loitering without intent.
