The written word is useless
Without the power of making waves
Creating storms
Influencing people in a way
That only people can —

                Something like this is being said
                Time and time again
                It’s said
                Not written —

The spoken words need people who speak them
The written words need people who read them
Or listen to them
From people who speak them
The power of the spoken word is temporarily —

                While the power of the written word lies in the past and in the future
                The power of the written word is permanentely —

God said:
In the beginning there was the word
And the word was good —

                God said
                But his word needed to be written down and read for people
                To listen
                To believe
                To follow —

When a word is written down
It is there to stay
And to work
And to change
Some words don’t die
And there are others that have seven lifes —

                When the writers are long dead
                Their ideas live on
                They might have been written with good intentions
                But it’s other people who are responsible
                For re-reading
                For re-interpretation
                For re-bending
                For re-twisting —

God never said:
At the end there will be the word
And the word will be dangerous.
