The Longest Day

The Sun is just an image of herself today
The clouds form shadows out of boredom
Look at yourself from deep within
And you’ll see hurricans of fire —

The stars appear behind their dusty shield
Its blissful sadness make up moods to face
                                Reality when everyone consumes
What’s left as fleshless bones —

So here it is, the longest day on Earth
We celebrate what’s gone and fear what’s left
Sometimes we wish we could do more
And then it’s us who build the walls.
