standing in the middle of nowhere
i’m still seeing clear
thus I’m seeing fear
not of the unknown
that would be easy
but of the well known
who behave cheesy
thinking they know best
when they’re trying to test
how far people will follow
if they haven’t learnt from the past

and I can tell
well, that’s not even a spoiler any more
THEY HAVEN’T

there is lack of confusion
in the present state
everyone knows their fate
but they don’t believe themselves
put the books into the shelves
leave them there
life isn’t fair
never was
never will be
just don’t start reading
tells the teacher his students
you wouldn’t think
what’s possible

and I can tell
well, that’s not even a spoiler any more
DON’T START DREAMING

the simple minded folks actually believe
that everything can be explained
with simplicity
black and white
good and evil
the really old song
wait and listen to the gong around high noon
when any other goon
follows an image
they created in their own tiny minds
follow the blinds
say the leaders
they don’t know what they’re doing.
