and again
an old white man
has declared himself competent enough
that his life is rough
that he struggles with health
even though his good wealth
makes it possible for him
that he doesn’t need to sin
to afford the treatment —

on the road to an agreement
on the other scale of importance
we want to see a great performance
of colourful costumes
of big gestures and zooms
to the old white males
how they joke and tell their tales
how they lie and play their part
that’s the state of the art —

politics is just a show
there is no make it so
there is just an I want more
burn out to the floor —

                politicians like it hot
                they don’t care if people rot
                in the trenches, on the streets
                they enjoy their show in front row seats —

so the burn out hits them hard
when they are without a guard
do we care and make a call
no, actually, not at all.
