it’s late once again
we’re always late
doing the work
five minutes before midnight
but we’re humans after all —
we need deadlines
no ten year projects
shortest distance
we need to see the finish line
before we’re starting —
whatever it counts
whatever it takes
if if doesn’t make a sound
of horror
we just don’t care —
climate change was on the horizon
forty years ago
we only recognize it today
five minutes before the deadline
well in sight —
is it too late already
well, not for the climate
not for nature
but humanity works on it
that it will be too late for us —
before that line is crossed
nothing will be written
nothing will be done
the rich is getting richer
the wealthy are having fun —
we’re great at waiting
for Godot who doesn’t come
when the sun is sinking
for the very last time
humans won’t notize.
