being loved
not admired
that was
what I desired
when I was young
and brave
when I didn’t have to shave
yet —

never will I forget
the pain in mind
for being kind
but pushed away
what did I say
that I didn’t mean
people aren’t that keen
to ask —

this is my task
living my life
trying to thrive
in a sense
of confidence
without pain
that I can gain
love.
