Sonnet #98: Quantum Leap

When raindrops fall with Autumn leaves to ground
He likes to stand behind the window curtain
And watch the future to the distant sound
Of his imagination left uncertain
He tries to comprehend what he has lost
In all those years that just went by without
The meaning of his life he wanted most
And now he still keeps in his wishing shout
I know there must be someone with a heart
Who recognises mine from any distance
It could be something of a fresh new start
But first he needs to conquer my resistance
The raindrops hit his eyes and fall asleep
Though he won’t make the final quantum leap.
