the drafts of life follow me wherever I go

there are two of them on this website
there are too many in my room
there are countless ones out there on the white street

there is a plan
then reality hits in
we always move on
but leave something behind

When snowflakes collide
I’m going to take the tram

When the streets are wet
I’m not going to give a damn

We’re making plans and having dreams
But never is it like it seems
That’s enough of rhyming for today
Because I’ve got important things to say

the day slows out
and the heart will shout:
write
you need to

I was happy as a child
the most unhappy as a teenager
most people would agree
and tell me

there is a terrible illusion
out there
that comes with the confusion
that there is no chaos

the sirens call on Sunday
they use my phone
and make my father dial my number in the morning

those are the times ahead
might people say who fear the worst
do something different instead

we won’t see the dangerous side
until it’s too late
until we all hate
