Sonnet #11: Zombies

It’s just another home he passed at night
The inner circle moves behind the curtain
He might have been the witness of a fight
But being drunk he sure was all but certain
The noises of the dark and moonless sea
The narrow city streets create persuasion
That evil crimes are starting to break free
The zombies soon will come for their invasion
The neighbourhood is filled with corpses cold
The horror when the empty eyes look back
Scenarios until he’s being sold
On strategies to keep him right on track
Until the end he doesn’t want to hide
The more he drinks he’ll vanish from their sight.
