Planet Earth Is Not Our Playground

There is this place I call home
I won’t discuss this too much
This place I call Earth —

It’s the only home we have
For the longest time and beyond
No Space X will change it
Or any other big money company —

Home is where the heart hurts
From the beauty it takes in
The pain results from knowing
That nothing stays forever
And many lives you know will die —

Home is where the mind knows
This is the place I have people
This is the place with history
This is where I belong
This is where people know me
Home is where safety equals freedom —

We all share the same sky above our heads
We’ve got different tastes
But our food grows from the same soil
We walk and sleep
We talk and keep our secrets
Share our knowledge
Have our doubts and fears about the future
But have one huge thing in common:
HOPE —

We live now
And now is the time
Not yesterday
Not tomorrow
Now we’ve got hope
And now we’re so close to each other
Than never before —

Hopefully there will be people in the future
Not just with visions
But the will to act
The time to do
Instead of just watch
And enjoy the present time —

Time is precious
As is our home
And still:
I’m not talking about my neighbourhood
Or my city
Or my country
I’m still talking about our planet
I’m talking about Earth —

Earth is my home
There are no borders
But still people defend it
Ironically the borders
Not Earth —

Earth is our home
But we’re not acting accordingly
We’re still playing —

When will we stop playing
When will we start acting?
