Sonnet #80: Gaza

The silver lining always makes me wonder
If there is reason for another dream
While politicians use this phrase to ponder
What can I buy to grow my self-esteem
The Gaza Strip is basically waste land
And still there are some homes left on the shore
The plutocrats though need another hard hand
To empty everything to get this store
Already there are plans to build hotels
Chimeras in the minds of autocrats
Democracy is useless in their cells
They build with laws and hire to the rats
The cynicals don’t call this genocide
They’re making cash while people need to hide.
