this is just the beginning
i keep telling me this
promising to be alive
all my life
and the life before
and the life after
what does this mean
i don’t know yet
i knew it before
but i’ve forgotten —

it’s an ongoing strategy
to keep trying
to be happy
one day
but how do i know
when i am?

this is just the prologue
of a life being lived
keep it beautiful
while it lasts
you don’t know
if you can be so lucky
of having another one —

it’s a failed strategy
to believe
you can keep
and take something
with you
but we can try
can’t we?

this is just my version
of writing down commitment
to whatever
strikes my mind
let it be heaven
let it be hell
no one can actually tell
will it be worth it
you still have to try
to know that.
