Lamp light from the other side
Of the street
Seen through the dirty glass
Of my window
It’s Autumn
Almost Winter
The lamp light could be bright
Through thin air
Cold temperatures
Below zero
Already
About time
But the woman enjoys
To light a cigarette
In the dusty atmosphere
Of a street light around midnight;
Looking through my window glass
Watching the woman
Without seeing her face
There is just a dark coat
A dark hat
Covering her face
One glowing cigarette between her lips
A scene noir
Under the night lamp
In dirty light
And dusty Autumn
She moves on
At last
The dark woman walks on
From dusty lights
Into darker nights;
It’s long after midnight
But the cigarette shines on
On the other side
Of the dirty window.
