Sonnet #5: Echoes

The sea arrives in calm at midnight shore
Please tell me frankly what you’ve got in store
When arm in arm my friend and I walk on
Because I truly care where we belong
The echoes of the past depart in waves
Let’s drink and fly across those dusted graves
When midnight only shivers down this lake
Her words of wisdom carry on deep fake
Besides the stars may blink their late mirage
Meet us at dawn to leave your entourage
May morning pale and cloudy streets appear
It is the lights of day that make us fear
The inner self of humans after all
Makes room for knowing best he’s outwards small.
