I
what if Earth doesn’t move anymore
one half gets the day
the other the dark
and where they meet
the shadows collide?
if so
we’ll all meet in vertigo
—
—
our future collective basis
will be stasis
the constant struggle of not knowing anything
everyone is in everlasting fear
when continuing movement is over
replaced by standing still
and the thrill of it
longing for the other state
just wishful thinking
believing creates religions
for the existing religions
haven’t been right
the next messiah will appear
together with many more
hell will be the only option
this is what they will tell
their deciples and sheep
to keep just a little bit of power —
II
what if war is the natural state
and Thomas Hobbes has always been right
peace is just an illusion
and only the state of mind
of the lunatics?
if so
we’ll all fight in vertigo
—
—
against each other
against ourselves
put in the public shelves
the heads of the witches
after the bodies ended in trenches
in collective graves
nobody shaves anymore
everybody behaves like animals
no-one rhymes at the end of a paragraph
but tends to throw away all the rules
the common laws
those that only make a society a society
and the earth will open at their bare feet
throwing fire at them
while they were fighting
against each other
it’s not teaching them a lesson
it’s saving animals and nature
from the glorious race —
III
what if the beauty of it all
is about learning to fall the right way
making the best of it
taking the right people out off their shells?
but this never sells —
so
we’ll all live in vertigo
—
—
until Earth has enough
she’s a tough lad
but an entity that eventually stops breathing
like all of us
when it’s enough
she can’t pretend to be tough anymore
being in vertigo is pretending
we’re all attending life by happenstance
we’re thrown in with a chance
getting a glance here and there
from a tiny part of society
for which learning doesn’t make them appear weak
but creates a streak
to get better
and what is being better
than being in vertigo as well
as I’m trying to tell here
All along?
