You might be alone
At day
But, please, remember
You’ve always got
The shadows following you
At night.

                                                Du bist vielleicht allein
                                                Am Tag
                                                Aber vergiss bitte nicht
                                                Nachts
                                                Werden dir immer
                                                Die Schatten folgen.

    I know less than little German, but I love how you have juxtaposed the two texts here. Your doing so lights up the German for me and makes it luminously intelligible, and somehow even more vivid and lovely for expressing the arresting image of shadow stalking. Thank you for this.

    I’m glad, you like it and shared your thoughts. Yeah, I went for something different this time but I kinda like it, too. Might keep it this way, also for the following aphorism-like posts.
