My mind is still trapped
Focussed too much on this tiny space of home and work
It needs to switch to the undiscovered country
With joy
With curiosity
Not focussing too much
Just the very next train to catch
Until the first destination comes to sight —
I will certainly leave something behind
There is always this one gnarling thought:
I know there is something I forgot
Don’t you think!
Will you not!
Don’t miss the holidays
Because of past days
And what comes
Maybe
Within three months
Will be nothing but a blink —
There will be lots of trains to catch
Hopefully not a miss-match
There is a bag to pack
And a brain to calm
I will need wires
Technical devices
Pens, paper, books
Or should I just be in the moment?
After all
What can I forget
Everything is put in this blackbox
That some call smartphone
I like to call it mobile device —
What’s the weather app saying
Do I really need long trousers
How many under pants
A sweater
Seriously
But when the weather is lousy
I might need it —
Stop
I need to pack
And stop the writing
Within hours
The sun might wake this brain
So I can finally travel again.
