Sonnet #82: Sonnambula

But people never see the midnight sun
They choose to sleep with sorrow dreams instead
At first they always think it might be fun
Sonnambula is keen to think ahead
We distance ourselves from deeper thoughts
We want it plain and simple and secure
But daylight nightmares follow of some sorts
To scare the innocent the most for sure
Our wisdom knows it can’t be real but then
We realize what had been said is true
Whenever people think she lied again
Sonnambula arrived to make it through
Those dreams at day fear people who think straight
While dreams at midnight always will be late.
